  • Lithium polymer rechargeable battery. Charge in 3 hrs using a micro USB cable (the one used for mobile phones).
  • LED on the left side signals the charging status: RED charging – BLUE or GREEN (depending on the LED installed) fully charged.
  • Piezo buzzer with multi-tones and jingles (piezo buzzers are loud and drain almost no power).
  • Sensitivity of 0.1 m/sec, thanks to the barometric sensor: MS5611-01BA03 by Measurement Specialties, Inc.
  • Filter of 1 second for the first thermal beep feedback. Then the instrument will give feedback
    and will be responsive every 0.5 seconds till the end of the thermal. If the Jb MINI doesn’t
    detect another thermal within 1 second from the last thermal the 1 second filter will be
    activated again. This is done to cut out noises or temporary “shaking”. This means also that if
    you set Jb to +0.1 the first thermal will be detected after 10 cm of variation , but the beep will
    be produced afer 20 cm... then after 1 second it will become responsive at 10 cm of difference,
    calculating variation every half second.
  • Sinking threshold and climbing threshold settable and verifiable by 2 side buttons. No need for a computer to set up.
    • - Climbing threshold settable from +0.1 m/sec to +0.6 m/sec with increment of +0. 1 m/sec (button UP).
      - Sinking threshold settable from -0.1 m/sec to -2.9 m/sec with increment of -0. 2 m/sec
      (button DOWN).
      - Option for disabling the sinking threshold (no beep going down) - (button DOWN).
  • 2 volume levels settable by a sequence on the 2 buttons.
  • All the setting will be stored in memory and will be retained even if the battery is drained flat or removed.
  • Factory reset performable by a sequence on the 2 buttons. The instrument will be set to the default thresholds of volume 100%, climbing +0.1 m/sec and sinking -1.5 m/sec.
  • Wrist strap, adhesive Velcro and Velcro strap are provided to set the instrument on the paraglider risers or wherever you prefer.
  •  

    The interval between beeps will be decreasing progressively from 600 millisec at 0.1m/s, to 90 millisec at +6 m/s.

    The beep duration will decrease progressively from 250 millisec at 0.1m/s, to 150 millisec at +6 m/s.

    The tone frequencies will be at steps like in the next table. Steps frequencies will help you to visualize the magnitude of the climbing. The duration of the descending beep is fixed at 900 millisec, the descending interval and frequncy are set at steps as in the table.

    If you are a newbie I suggest you to disable the sinking beep otherwise you may be confused.
